Cork Bark Air Plant Display with 2 Tillandsia
This natural cork bark tabletop display creates an authentic environment for air plants, mirroring their native habitat. The 4-inch wide by 6-inch long cork piece features two pre-drilled holes positioned to securely hold Tillandsia air plants without adhesives. This glue-free design allows you to remove plants for watering and rearrange them as needed.
Each display includes two carefully selected Tillandsia air plants chosen to complement the cork bark's natural texture and size. The plants wedge firmly into the pre-drilled holes, staying secure while remaining easy to access for maintenance. Cork bark's porous surface provides excellent air circulation, supporting healthy plant growth.
Why Cork Bark for Air Plants
Cork bark offers distinct advantages as an air plant display material. Its natural texture and appearance replicate the tree bark that Tillandsia species attach to in tropical and subtropical forests. The material is lightweight, durable, and naturally resistant to moisture damage. Unlike synthetic displays, cork bark develops character over time while maintaining its structural integrity.
The glue-free mounting system sets this display apart from typical air plant arrangements. Many displays permanently attach plants with adhesive, making proper watering difficult and preventing rearrangement. The pre-drilled hole design in this cork bark piece solves both issues, giving you full control over plant care and positioning.
Care and Maintenance
Remove plants from the cork bark display 2-3 times weekly for watering. Soak Tillandsia in room temperature water for 20-30 minutes, shake off excess water, and allow them to dry completely before returning them to the display. The cork bark requires no special maintenance beyond occasional dusting.
Position your display in bright, indirect light near a window or on a desk where it receives adequate air circulation. The compact 4x6 inch footprint fits comfortably on desks, shelves, nightstands, and small tables. With plants in place, the display reaches up to 8 inches in height.
Natural Variation
Cork bark is a natural material harvested from cork oak trees. Each piece features unique texture, coloring, and surface patterns. Hole placement varies based on the bark's natural shape and structure. The two included Tillandsia plants are living organisms that vary in size, shape, and coloration. This natural variation ensures your display is one-of-a-kind.
