Geometric Light and Shadow — A 3D-Printed Table Lamp with a Floating Shade Design
The Prisma Lamp is a collaboration with designer Walmen Dumaliang, born from the idea of arraying a single 3D-printable shape in a circular pattern to create a form that is both intricate and remarkably strong. Its signature living hinge suspends the shade halfway up the base, producing a beautiful gradient of light and shadow that shifts with every angle — and giving the illusion that the shade is floating above the base.
That floating effect is no accident: because the shade’s printing method didn’t allow for a traditional threaded connection, Walmen engineered unique levers into the base that fit into gaps in the shade when assembled — a quietly ingenious solution that becomes a defining visual feature. Compatible with any LED E12 bulb, and also available as a cordless rechargeable version. Because each piece is 3D printed, minor variations in color and texture are part of what makes every Prisma uniquely yours.
