Handmade 12oz Ceramic Coffee Mug - Tenmoku Glaze

Handmade Ceramic Coffee Mug with Tenmoku Glaze

This 12oz ceramic coffee mug combines traditional tenmoku glaze with contemporary design. Handmade in our Philadelphia studio, each mug features a smooth dark glaze that creates a vessel you'll reach for every day.

The mug's profile is refined without being delicate. At 3.25 inches in diameter and 3.75 inches tall, it fits comfortably in your hand and under most coffee makers. The slender handle provides a secure grip while maintaining the mug's streamlined appearance.

Tenmoku glaze creates a rich, dark finish with subtle variations that make each piece unique. This traditional Japanese glaze technique produces depth and character that develops over multiple firings in our studio kiln.

Why Choose Handmade Stoneware

Stoneware ceramic naturally retains heat, keeping your coffee or tea warm longer than standard mugs. The dense clay body is fired at high temperatures, creating a durable vessel that withstands daily use. Unlike mass-produced mugs, each handmade piece has its own character—subtle variations in glaze application and shape are signatures of the handcrafting process.

Our mugs are made to order by our Philadelphia studio team. Every piece is individually thrown, glazed, and fired, ensuring attention to detail that factory production can't match.
