The Kalista™ Glass Serving Board is made by hand using a two-step technique that is as much art as it is craft. First, handblown glass is painted with intricate, irregular white dots — no two pieces share the same pattern. Then a second pane of glass is fused over the top, permanently protecting and preserving the painted artwork beneath. The result is a 15" serving board with a primarily transparent surface, a subtle blue/mint green hue, and artwork sealed inside the glass itself. A thumb hole in the frame makes it easy to carry from kitchen to table. And because the artwork is fully encased between two fused glass layers, the board is completely dishwasher safe — a rare quality in a handcrafted art piece of this caliber.
