Handcrafted Black Terrazzo Concrete Coaster Set
These concrete coasters combine functionality with distinctive terrazzo styling. Each coaster features recycled glass embedded in concrete, creating a unique speckled pattern that ensures no two pieces are identical. The cork base protects furniture surfaces while preventing the coaster from sliding.
Construction and Materials
Each coaster is individually hand-cast from custom rubber molds. The black color and recycled glass are integrally mixed into the concrete during production, resulting in authentic terrazzo aesthetics. The concrete receives a food-grade sealer, though direct food contact is not recommended. A cork base layer provides cushioning and grip on tabletops.
Natural voids and small pinholes may appear during the casting process—these are characteristic of hand-poured concrete work and contribute to each piece's individual character.
Practical Design Features
The 4-inch width accommodates standard glassware, from whiskey tumblers to wine glasses. At 5/8 inch thick, these coasters provide substantial protection against condensation and heat transfer. The non-porous sealed surface prevents moisture absorption, while the cork backing ensures glasses won't stick to the coaster when lifted.
Set Options and Use
Available in sets of 2 or 4 coasters to suit different entertaining needs. The compact size works for coffee tables, side tables, desks, and bar areas. The neutral black terrazzo pattern coordinates with various interior styles, from modern to industrial aesthetics.
Care Instructions
Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Do not submerge in water or place in dishwashers. The sealed concrete surface resists staining from beverages when wiped promptly.
