Care Instructions:

• To wash your bento box in the dishwasher: Check the placement of your dishwasher’s heat air vent. Before loading the bento box into the dishwasher, ensure you are familiar with the location of the dishwasher’s heat air vent.
• Position the bento box away from the air vent. To prevent any bending or warping of the bento box, make sure to place your bento away from the heat air vent. Heat exposure during the drying process could potentially affect the shape of the bento box.

Our Story

Ishikawa, Japan, 1925. the rush of high economic growth and a new found passion for fashion inspired many Japanese people to bring their lunches to work for the first time. Recognizing this trend, a company called Takenaka soon began producing beautifully crafted bento boxes, hand-painted on the outside with colorful lacquer for the people to carry proudly.

Our Evolution

Takenaka’s simple, hand polished designs soon sparked a rise in the popularity of bento style lunch boxes, and with time, they became a trend of their own. Throughout our history, and continuing to today, you will find the same level of high quality design in each colorful lunch box of joy.

Our Craftmanship

Takenaka was founded in the Yamanaka Onsen district of the city of Kaga known for its long history of lacquerware craftsmanship. Lacquerware, is one of Japan’s oldest traditional crafts and an exquisite traditional technique that have been handed down from ancient times. Takenaka has taken this ancient technique and applied it to a variety of tableware products, including the popular bento box.

Returns
We have a 30-day return policy, meaning you have 30 days from which your item is received to request a return for a refund (minus the cost of return shipping), store credit, or exchange. In select cases, a restock fee may apply.

Defects & Damages
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us at support@lilyandonyx.com within 5 days if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item. Photos showing defects or damage will be required via email.
