Additional Details

• All our doormats are tan/natural brown in color. The natural coir fibers of the doormat are from natural coconut husks which are mildew resistant and have an extra-sturdy, thick vinyl backing to help keep them in place.
• Care Info: Though we use all weather paints and a UV sealant to ensure that your mat is perfect for your doorstep, we suggest that you keep your mat as dry as possible to avoid darkening of the fibers. To clean, simply shake out…easy as that!
• PLEASE READ: We do our best to hand make, process and ship standard orders as quickly as possible, and our current production time is 5-7 business days.

I started Nickel Designs Welcome Mats in February 2015 when my husband and I bought our first home and I couldn't find a "cool" doormat in stores. I made the first 'hi.' design and shared it on my personal Instagram page. Before I knew it, I had friends and family asking where I bought it. I thought, maybe I should put this out into the world and opened my Etsy shop later that month.

I ran my Etsy shop in my spare time around my full-time job for the next year and found myself using all my nights and weekends, even lunch breaks to paint, pack and ship out orders. So, after much debate in 2016, I quit my full-time job to run Nickel designs from my home. This was an incredibly nerve wracking time but I was equally as excited for this opportunity and my new role as an entrepreneur.

In 2017, Nickel Designs joined the West Elm LOCAL program. Joining the West Elm family has been an amazing blessing for my small business! I’m so proud of our products and even happier to have my company be included in the ’Best Of LOCAL’ catalog which means Nickel Designs doormats are now available to all 95+ stores across the country! A smaller selection of our designs are available on the West Elm website too! Seeing my doormats in stores has given me such a sense of accomplishment and pushes me to work even harder.

Nickel Designs doormats are also available on Houzz and can be found in 15+ smaller boutiques nationwide. Keeping true to the beginning of this company, each and every doormat is still hand made to order, just for you by me and my amazing team here in Ozark, MO. We’ve definitely grown into our studio as a team of 5 and are so happy to help you greet your guests with a smile each time they visit!
