The Scaffold Lamp is a collaboration with Nigh Collective, designed by Ed Ngai following a trip to London that left a lasting impression. A grid-motif apartment building in Shoreditch and the geometric grandeur of Liverpool Street tube station combined to inspire a lamp that juxtaposes structured repetition with playful, organic curves — present in the shade on a large scale, and mirrored on the base in a smaller, convex form.
The design takes its cues from paper lanterns, emulating the effect of a grid cage tightly wrapped in paper. The result is a lamp that feels both architectural and warm — precise in its patterning, soft in its light. Made from recycled PLA and compatible with any LED or smart bulb, the Scaffold Lamp is as functional as it is striking. Because each piece is 3D printed, minor variations in color and texture are part of what makes every lamp uniquely yours.
