Tillandsia Capitata Peach Air Plant
The Tillandsia Capitata Peach is a distinctive air plant variety featuring curly, silvery green leaves arranged in a symmetrical rosette formation. This large specimen reaches 2-4 inches in width and 4-6 inches in height, making it a substantial addition to any air plant collection.
Appearance and Growth Characteristics
This cultivar displays gorgeous silvery green foliage with a naturally curly texture that creates visual interest from every angle. The symmetrical rosette form provides a balanced, architectural quality that works well in various display settings. The leaves' silvery coloration comes from specialized scales called trichomes, which help the plant absorb moisture and nutrients from the air.
Blooming Cycle
When the Tillandsia Capitata Peach enters its bloom cycle, the plant undergoes a dramatic transformation. The silvery green leaves blush with beautiful shades of peach and pink, creating a stunning color display. The bloom itself produces spectacular purple blossoms that emerge from the center of the rosette. While blooming plants are limited in availability, all air plants naturally bloom throughout their lifecycle, and you can anticipate these vibrant color changes as your plant matures.
Care Requirements
Tillandsia Capitata Peach thrives with bright, indirect light and good air circulation. Water by soaking the entire plant for 20-30 minutes once per week, then shake off excess water and allow to dry completely in a well-ventilated area. The curly leaf structure requires thorough drying to prevent water from pooling between leaves. These air plants prefer temperatures between 50-90°F and appreciate occasional misting between waterings in dry environments.
Display Options
The symmetrical rosette shape and substantial size of this variety make it ideal for standalone display. Mount on driftwood, place in a decorative holder, or incorporate into terrariums and living wall arrangements. The curly foliage adds texture and dimension to any setting, while the compact rosette form maintains its shape without requiring support.
