The Tillandsia Xerographica is one of the most spectacular air plants available. This medium-sized specimen measures 5-6" wide by 4-6" tall, showcasing the distinctive characteristics that have earned it the title "Queen" of air plants.
Distinctive Appearance
This Xerographica features silvery light green leaves that form a tight, architectural rosette. The thick, wide leaves curl naturally, creating a sculptural form that serves as a focal point in any space. Thin, spiky new growth emerges from the center, providing a striking contrast in both texture and form against the broader outer leaves.
Rare Variety
Tillandsia Xerographica is among the rarer air plant varieties. Native to Central and South America, this species grows slowly in nature, making cultivated specimens particularly valued. The thick, substantial leaves indicate the plant's adaptation to dry conditions and its ability to store moisture efficiently.
Care Requirements
This air plant requires no soil and minimal maintenance. Mist 2-3 times weekly or soak for 20-30 minutes every 1-2 weeks. After watering, turn the plant upside down and gently shake to remove excess water from the center. Place in bright, indirect light with good air circulation. The thick leaves of Xerographica make it more drought-tolerant than many other air plant species.
Display Options
The Xerographica's sculptural form makes it ideal for standalone display. Place it in a shallow bowl, mount it on driftwood, suspend it in a glass terrarium, or simply set it on a shelf or desk. The silvery coloration complements both modern and natural decor styles.
